To celebrate this week’s release of the War Goddess Volume 1 graphic novel, Boundless Comics proudly presents daily entries written by Mr. Action himself, Mike Wolfer! Every day, we’ll pitch a match-up to him, taking one of the characters from Lady Death and pitting her (or him) against one of the War Goddess roster! Who will win?
Today’s Match: Behemoth Vs. Rougarou
If there’s a being akin to The Incredible Hulk in the Underrealm, Behemoth is it. Although he does not possess innate magical abilities like others in the world of Lady Death, Behemoth is incredibly strong and virtually indestructible, and has absolutely no feelings of morality or sympathy to get in his way of mercilessly crushing his foes. The Rougarou, on the other hand, is a big, slimy swamp monster, part alligator, part human, part weeping willow tree and all fearsome. The Rougarou was thought to be just a Cajun bayou legend, but he’s very real, possessing unearthly strength, the savageness of a wild, swamp predator, and a taste for human flesh.
When comparing the strength levels of Behemoth and the Rougarou, Behemoth’s physical strength would be on a higher level. But even though Behemoth’s incredibly blood-thirsty, the Rougarou fights on an instinctual level, and like any savage beast its fury would be unrestrained when defending its territory. However, if Behemoth could maintain a hand-hold on the slippery, vegetation-covered Rougarou, he would probably defeat the monster since he possesses a more highly-developed intellect. If you know Behemoth, that intellect isn’t anything to brag about, but at least he’s smarter than a bayou swamp creature.
